The Eatontown Fire Department, an all-volunteer organization, is currently seeking and accepting applications for new members. Firefighters, in addition to responding to fire calls and other emergencies, take part in training drills to keep skills and equipment current. They also help in educating the public about fire safety and what to do when faced with a fire. In addition to the above, they also enjoy various social activities (for example, car washes, fairs, vehicle dedications, dances, and holiday parties). The department has many standing committees that help run the organization. Members are selected to be on certain committees and have a say in the everyday business of the organization. To join, you must:
High school students who are at least 16 years of age and who can pass a standard physical may join as Junior Firefighters. They assist at emergency scenes and at drills. They take part in the department's social activities. If you meet the above criteria, then don't delay, call 389-7620 for an application or more information. Come on, if you can take the heat, and join one of Eatontown's oldest and proudest organizations in serving and protecting the public. |
